Catina Latham, PhD

Senior Vice President, Urban Health Initiative Community Health Transformation and Chief Equity Officer

Catina Latham, PhD, is Senior Vice President for Community Health Transformation and Chief Equity Officer at UChicago Medicine. She leads the work of the Urban Health Initiative (UHI) — the committee health arm for the hospital.  She previously served as a director at the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), where she led healthcare evaluations and advised Congress on Medicaid improvements.

 

Earlier, Dr. Latham was UChicago Medicine’s Executive Director of Community Benefit Programs and Evaluation for the UHI, leading community health strategy and conducting the 2018–19 Community Health Needs Assessments. She also supported care coordination efforts through initiatives like the Liaisons in Care (LinC) community health worker program and the South Side Pediatric Asthma Center, contributing to improved outcomes and access to care.

 

Her prior roles include deputy director at the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services and board service with the Girls Like Me Project. She holds a PhD in public administration (health policy and evaluation) and master’s in health services administration from George Washington University, and a BA in anthropology from the University of Chicago. Dr. Latham has also taught at UChicago’s Harris School of Public Policy and will be teaching at Booth School of Business this summer.
